… one picture is worth a thousand words …

The purpose of this project is to use photography as a form of storytelling for residents living on council estates that are undergoing, or are expecting to undergo, major development - or ‘renewal’ as it is officially termed.

The project is open to anyone who is living on a council estate and to people who have a friend or family member on one of these estates and would like to assist them in telling their story.

We only want one square photo per resident, using a mobile phone (set to square format), that captures ‘moving’. Moving can mean anything a person chooses; a form of transport, moving home, moving around the workmen, or a moving story.

The photograph can be submitted with or without a story or words to accompany it, all we ask is if using Instagram to include #Moving_Me? as this is how we will help us find the photograph on Instagram. Also adding hashtag of the location and #London will be great.

The Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) can provide more info on how to submit a photo, alternatively feel free to drop us an email, all correspondence is kept strictly confidential.

We plan to have a short exhibition of the photographs submitted in central London later in 2019 and then on final completion all photographs and any accompanying words will be archived in the Museum of London for future generations.
